Overview:
It’s a choice of millennials rather than enthusiasts. It doesn’t mean it’s bad but it’s a cool car. Tesla Says it is an SUV but it looks like a minivan. A torque monster enough to stick to the seats and is able to compete with hypercar in (0-100)km/hr time with your whole family in the back. It’s the Model X. It has variants called 60D,70D,75D,90D and 100D. And in Nepal out of nowhere three of them have landed being the 100D Long Range. So it is the most powerful car you’ll ever see in the Nepali Roads period.
Power:
Tesla’s are known for their immense power able to beat any supercar from the get go. The 100D Long Range has 100kW battery producing 503hp and 660Nm of combined power and torque respectively and has a top speed of 240km/hr and (0-100)km/hr time of 4.9sec. That is insane especially when it’s driven in a road where we can’t even reach 100km/hr properly.
Exterior:
It has a typical electric car design. It’s not so gorgeous and nor ugly. It looks descent to appeal to it’s buyers. It’s the safest car you can buy having 5 star rating from euro NCAP. But the panel gaps in the car are to be noticed. It’s doors open in a diferent way than what we regularly see with cars in Nepal called falcon doors in the rear that looks really cool. In the front end of the car houses LED DRLs, fog lamps, LED headlamps. To the side you’ll see sleek coupe like design. It has side cladding and has a drag coefficiet of 0.24D which means it is the most aerodynamic SUV ever. It comes with 20 inch alloy wheels
Interior:
It is really spacious and you might feel you are at home. The cabin has a really minimalistic design and when you sit on the driver seat you’ll get distracted by the gigantic screen in the middle which has so many features that you’ll feel like your using a smartphone and can also be used by the scroller mounted on the either side of the steering wheel. The cars doors can be controlled from the screen and the animation of the car in the screen is shown in real time motion. There are cup holders on each row but it misses out on doorbins. The seats are adjustable to your liking. Standard Model X comes with 5 seats but there is an option for 7 seat. The car has huge windshield reaching upto above your head which gives you spacious feel.
Features:
The list goes on and on with features. The most important being it’s electric range of 528km. Via supercharging it can charge from 10%-80% within 42min of time where as when you are at home using type 2 outlet it can charge from 10%-80% in about 8 hrs. ABS automatically sense when a tire has stopped rotating under extreme braking, and will modulate the brake pressure to allow the tire to rotate. Stability control, Front-impact airbags, Side impact airbags, Overhead airbags, Knee airbags, Pretensioners, Security system are some of the key safety features.
